Back the Redundancy Protection Bill

At a time of rising unemployment, hundreds of thousands of Kiwis and their families have no financial protection against redundancy.

This leaves us nearly alone in the developed world in having no right to redundancy compensation if we are laid off due to no fault of our own.

Darien Fenton's Redundancy Protection Bill would protect Kiwi workers who are facing hard times by helping to tide them over until they find a new job.

But it needs the Government's support to pass. We're calling on John Key to honour his promise to help Kiwis through the recession by backing the Redundancy Protection Bill.

Because Kiwis deserve a fair deal in hard times.
